Volunteer & Youth Coordinator

Our Visión and Focus

The Misión México Foundation aims to break cycles of poverty, abuse and inequality; providing
opportunities for every child and youth that we care for to succeed. Through long-term solutions like
education, practical and emotional care and community development, we provide tools and
opportunities for children and youth to advance in every aspect of their lives, becoming the best that they can be. Our core focuses are; education and extracurricular activities; safe homes with a family environment; health and wellbeing support; community development, personal development and life skills.

Role Context

Misión México Casa is introducing a new volunteer model. We will now accept volunteers during school holidays only (Christmas, Easter, and Summer), to facilitate specialised workshops and courses with the children and youth in our care. We are looking for passionate people to join our team and lead activities and workshops based on their skills and expertise. Please join our team this summer to launch Misión México's first ever Enrichment Program!

Please be conversational, professional or native speaking in English (basic Spanish would be great and useful to you here!).

The application process for Specialist Volunteers will include a request for a proposal of your course/workshop so we can schedule your time accordingly.

Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for volunteers to share with and teach our kids courses and workshops in the following areas: cooking/baking, gardening, yoga, dance, sports, surfing, theatre, visual arts, arts & crafts, performing arts, etc.

It would be great if you have teaching, coaching, or other experience with youth, leading and facilitating activities and games with an emphasis on SEL and/or working with kids with trauma. These are not requirements, just background we're especially seeking.

Essential Criteria

Volunteers must be 21 years and older, willing to commit for 2 weeks minimum or more and be prepared to apply with structured lesson plans, aims and ideas.
