Community Programs & Development - ESL/ESOL Teacher
Our Community Development Program, Proyecto Faro, was established in 2021. Proyecto Faro is a community development program which transforms the behaviours, attitudes and skills of youth, motivating them to become agents of positive change within their families and communities. It does this through providing positive experiences and opportunities at no cost to the participants.
The Community Programs & Development English Teacher is responsible for:
● providing engaging, relevant and appropriate English language classes to our program service users ranging in age from 13-21 years.
● working to promote Proyecto Faro’s English classes within the Tapachula region.
Youth Transition Program Coordinator
Our Youth Transition Programme (YTP) was established in 2014 to enable older youth within Misión
México to begin their transition to semi-independent living, and build the skills required to live
independently. Misión México has procured an off-site Youth Transition House for our youth to live
under supervision, whilst being supported to finish higher education or pursue career goals. They live
in two separate transition apartments in a privately rented and secure apartment block. The YTP
Coordinator works closely with our youth living at Misión Mexico (aged 15 years +) and our young
adults living in the Youth Transition House (aged 18 years +). Our YTP Coordinator is expected to be
both a role model and a source of authority to our youth and young adults.
The YTP Coordinator works to create a safe, secure, and stable environment for our youth, with a
supportive learning environment that ensures their daily living skills are developed. The focus
includes independent and practical living skills, health and nutrition, education and employment
support, financial planning, and budgeting. Personal development is a critical element of the program
to help improve their confidence, interpersonal and negotiation skills, and self-motivation.
Support Worker - Youth Transition Program
Our Youth Transition Program (YTP) is vital to the care and growth of our youth who live in our Mision Mexico
Casa and Youth Transition Houses. As our YTP has expanded to work 1-1 with more of our youth, there is the
need for more long-term consistency and assistance in our support team.
Our YTP was established in 2014 to enable older youth within the Misión México Home to begin their
transition to semi-independent living, and develop the life skills required to eventually live independently. Our
YTP works with youth living in our Mision Mexico Casa, aged 14 - 19 years old, and youth living in our off-site
Youth Transition Houses, aged 18 - 21 years old. The Support Worker works closely with other staff members
in supporting a complex caseload of youth living in our Misión Mexico Casa, aged 14 - 19 years old.
